Finance and Accounts Assistant

Northease Manor School are looking to recruit a Finance and Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing school at an exciting time.

This person specification lists the qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and personal qualities of the person required to undertake the post. It will be used by the school to assist in drawing up a shortlist of candidates for interview, and during the interview/selection process. Applicants should provide evidence to demonstrate their suitability for the position and how they meet the requirements of the person specification in the application form and at interview.

It will also be used as part of the School’s performance management processes.

Education and Qualifications

 

§   Good general level of education to include Maths and English

 

 

 

§  Level 1 or 2 award in book keeping or equivalent.

§  AAT Qualified or part qualified

 

 

Job Experience and knowledge

 

§  Accounts administration experience including purchase and sales ledger

§   Experience of processing purchase orders

§   Confident in the use of IT (Word, Excel, internet, email and accounting systems)

§   Excellent knowledge of excel formulas and functions

§   Efficient and accurate data entry

§   Previous use of an accounts package

 

§  Knowledge of Business Accounting regulations

§  Experience working in a school/education setting

§  Experience of working in an independent school

§  Knowledge of Engage accounting software (schools accounting system)

§  Previous use of a MIS system

 

 

Skills/Abilities& Competencies

 

 

§   Ability to analyse complex problems

§   Ability to work independently using own initiative but understand when to escalate matters

§   Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, be pro-active and self- motivated, understanding priorities and managing workload affectively

§   “Can do” attitude

§   Proficient in the use of MS Office applications, email and the Internet

§   Able to produce analytical data and report to a comprehensive standard including the dissemination of this information to a range of different users

§   High level of literacy and numeracy

§   Strong organisational skills and ability to work to a high degree of accuracy

§   Excellent attention to detail

§   Ability to work within and apply all school policies

 

§   Good statistical skills contributing data to reports, such as Monthly Financial Management reports

§   Ability to interact with people at senior management level

Salary & Benefits

FTE £25,000 - £27,000 (pro rata)
