Teaching Assistant

Northease Manor School is seeking to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with our exceptional students, providing invaluable support and guidance throughout their educational journey. We strongly believe in creating an inclusive and nurturing environment for all young people.

Qualifications
and training

  GCSE or equivalent level, including at least a Grade 4 (previously Grade C) in English and Maths

  Willingness to participate in further training and development opportunities

 

Experience

  Experience working with students with SEN, either within schools or other relevant sectors

  Experience delivering learning activities

  Experience in planning and delivering teaching and learning activities (under supervision)

 

Skills and knowledge

  Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and fellow staff members

  Good literacy and numeracy skills

  Good organisational skills

  Skills and expertise in understanding the needs of all students

  Knowledge of how to help adapt and deliver support to meet individual needs

  Excellent verbal communication skills

  Active listening skills

  The ability to remain calm in challenging situations

  Knowledge of guidance and requirements around safeguarding children

  Good ICT skills, particularly using ICT to support learning

  Understanding of roles and responsibilities within the classroom and whole school context

 

Personal qualities

  A patient and empathetic nature, with the ability to motivate and inspire young learners

  Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with students

  A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all students, and promoting the ethos and values of the school

  Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
